Puri: The preparations for the world famous chariot festival or Rath Yatra has begun. The wood for the sculpting of Rath Yatra will be taken from Bargarh. According to information, the wood for Rath Yatra will be brought from Bargarh and then chariot of the three deities will be constructed in Puri. A five-membered team from Puri has reached Bargarh. This five-membered will survey the wood at the Padmapur jungle. During the survey, the Bargarh DFO will also be present. Earlier in the day, a Mahasnan was held in the Srimandir for cleansing of the temple after a servitor who was not in the charge of application of Mailam mistakenly touched the the Lord during the rituals. A Palua servitor touched the sacred ritual of application of Mailam (oil like thing). The ritual was to be performed by other group of servitors. This disrupted the temple rituals. Consequently, ‘Chuan Mahasnan’ was held to cleanse the Srimandir.
