Bhubaneswar: As the Kalabaisakhi comes to an end, the temperature is expected to rise. The mercury has already soared high with just the beginning of summer season in Odisha. The Kalabaisakhi that came in with a hope of respite from the summer instead tormented people and destroyed crops. The scorching heat is expected to grill people of Odisha with temperature recording 40 degrees Celsius. In just four days, the temperature is expected to rise from 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. As per the weather department, by March 27, the temperature is expected to rise to 40 degrees Celsius. However, no heatwave warning has been issued for the next four days. According to sources, the western districts of Boudh and Jharsuguda were almost each day breaking the maximum temperature record. In just two days, western Odisha recorded 5 to 7 degrees Celsius in just two days. On March 14, Jharsuguda recorded 41.8 degrees and on March 15, Boudh recorded 42.5 degrees Celsius to become one of the hottest places in the country. The Kalabaisakhi rains tormented Odisha from March 20.
