Mumbai: Salman Khan is sure that his next film, Sikandar, will be a huge success. At the trailer launch of the film in Mumbai, he announced that the action thriller would cross Rs. 200 crore at the box office, regardless of its quality. Salman’s filmography features a string of commercially hit films, with quite a few members of the ₹100 crore club. His 2010 blockbuster hit Dabangg was the first ever film to surpass the Rs. 100 crore mark, raking in Rs. 140.22 crore from India. Some of the other hit mentions include Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Jai Ho, Tubelight, Bodyguard, Dabangg 3, Race 3, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Tiger Zinda Hai. Salman, at the trailer launch, said, “Eid, Diwali, New Year, festive, non-festive, it’s the love of the people and picture acchi ho ya buri ho, woh sau (Rs. 100 crore) toh paar kara hi dete hain (Whether film is good or bad, it will at least mint Rs. 100 crore).” Salman then corrected himself, stating, “Rs. 100 crore bohot pehle ki baat hain (Rs. 100 crore is a thing of the past).” Salman feels that Sikandar will cross this figure and predict that it will cross Rs. 200 crore. The trailer of Sikandar features Salman in a larger-than-life avatar, with an action-packed plot following his character’s quest to wipe out a crime racket in Mumbai. Rashmika is his love interest in the movie, which is directed by AR Murugadoss. Sikandar will hit theaters on Eid 2025, supported by Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. With its great record and loyal fan base, Sikandar is bound to cross the Rs. 200 crore threshold. Success does not always rely on the quality of a movie, but more on the support and affection of the masses.
