Balasore: Odisha Vigilance arrested the in-charge secretary of Durgadevi Co-operative Society of Balasore district for bungling of government money to the tune of Rs 5.8 lakhs under PM Fasbal Bima Yojana. Sri Girish Chandra Behera, Incharge Secretary, Durgadevi Co-Operative Society, Durgadevi, Dist- Balasore has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance for misappropriation of Govt. money from the society by diverting Indemnity claim amount to the tune of Rs 5.8 Lakhs in PMFBY (Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana) meant for 38 farmers who happen to be the victims during the years 2021-2023 and is being forwarded to the Court. In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No 2/2025 U/s 13(2)r/w13(1)(a) PC (Amendment) Act, 2018/409 IPC has been registered against the accused Sri Behera. Investigation into the case continues.
