Koraput: In a bizarre incident, the Koraput district police seized a vehicle smuggling Ganja hidden with Neem leaves. The Padua police detained one person along with 1 tonne of Ganja while another one fled the scene. Acting on a tip off, on the instructions of Koraput SP, a team of officials headed by Nandapur SDPO, conducted a checking near the RAS office. A vehicle (Eicher) with a Rajasthan registration number was checked during the blocking and checking. As the officials searched the vehicle to their shock they found loads of Ganja hidden amidst Neem leaves. The Ganja was being smuggled this way. Reportedly, the ganja was being smuggled to Rajasthan from the local Buding village. While the driver of the vehicle was detained by the police in the case of smuggling ganja, another person has absconded. The police have registered a case in this case and are investigating.
