IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings fails to make an impression, loses five matches out of six this season

Chennai Super Kings are struggling in a deep slump. This IPL edition doesn’t seem to be in favour of former champions CSK. The team has lost all his matches since the opening match with Mumbai Indians. CSK has lost five out of six games, this IPL season. Even after, MS Dhoni returned as the captain of the team, still the games aren’t turning out in their favour. Friday’s game against Kolkata Knight Riders was meant to be the turning point. With Dhoni returning as captain since 2023’s winning title. Fans hoped for a big bang comeback. But instead, the same problems resurfaced, and with the absence of Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK had their worst-ever IPL defeat. The team seems to have lost their charm and magic. During the IPL 2025 auction itself, CSK failed to acquire power hitters. Dhoni has always been backed up by a team that powers him up. But, this season seems like the captain cool is on his own. The premier spinners of the team, R.Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, haven’t been up to the standards either. They have relied on their traditional off-spin, which has failed to justify the faith shown by the management on them. CSK has previously mounted comebacks from worse. They did it in 2010, the team recovered from two wins in their first seven matches to lift their maiden title. Fans are hoping and waiting for their Mahi to make a comeback. Even if there is 1% hope, the fans are willing to stick to that percent to see the strongest team come back to the game with a bang.
