Sambalpur: The Sambalpur police achieved success as a notorious gangster Sitaram Sarangi was fired this morning around 5.15 am. The police firing occurred near Rangiatrika in Gobindapur. Acting on a tip off the Sambalpur police chased Sitaram. Seeing the police approach he fired at Police. The police retaliated and fired at the notorious gangster and the bullet hit his left leg. He was rushed to the VIMSAR medical for treatment. Police seized one pistol, bullets, a bike and Rs 1 lakh from him. Reportedly, there are over 25 cases on his name at several police stations. Additional SP Shasank Sekhar Beura informed that Police chased the man and after an exchange of fire arrested him. He was sent for medical treatment in VIMSAR.
