Tajikistan: Earthquake of 6.1 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Tajikistan on Sunday, April 13. The tremors were felt at 9.54 am in Tajikistan and surrounding areas. The activity occurred at a depth of 10 km. The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) gave an update on the seismic activity in a post on X (formerly twitter),, “WQ of M:6.1, on 13/94/2025 IST, Lat: 38.86N, Long: 70.61 E, Depth: 10km, Location: Tajikistan.” Powerful aftershocks were also reported in the region. NCS in another post on X, said that magnitude of 5.5 earthquake jolted Tajikistan within an hour of the first activity felt. The second quake occurred at 10.36 am on April 13. The post stated that, “EQ of M: 3.9, on: 13/04/2025 10:36:09 IST, Lat: 39.02 N, Long: 70.40 E, Depth: 10 km, Location: Tajikistan.” Tajikistan was not the only region which felt the seismic activity. Meiktila, a small city in central Myanmar also felt strong tremors of quake of 5.5 magnitude at 7.54 am on April 13. NCS stated that this was the biggest aftershocks since March 28 powerful earthquake.
