41 students injured in bee attack in Daringbadi

Daringbadi: Bee attack left at least 41 students of Badabanga Sevashram at Daringbadi of Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Tuesday. The health conditions of three of the students are said to be critical and all of them have been admitted at Daringbadi Community Health Centre (CHC). According to reports, the 41 inmates of the Badabanga Sevashram were attacked by bees while they were taking bath in the morning hours today. On being informed, the headmaster of the school rushed to the spot and with the help of other staff admitted the injured students at Daringbadi Community Health Center for treatment. Meanwhile, it is alleged that a beehive was found near the students’ hotel a few months ago. But none paid any attention to it nor took any step to disperse it, which is why the students were stung by the bees today. While the incident has shocked everyone in the locality, the local sarpanch expressed concern about this and urged the authorities of the Sevashram to disperse the bees completely from the premises of the institution.
