14 foot long king cobra rescued in Mayurbhanj district

Udala: A 14 foot long king cobra was rescued from a village in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Thursday. The huge snake was rescued from the Padmapokhari village under Kaptipada Forest Range of the district.

As per reports, initially a few locals spotted the huge cobra entering into a pond form near a tree in Padmapokhari village of Kaptipada forest range and informed the forest department.

On receiving the information, the forest department along with the snake help line members reached the spot. On reaching the spot, the snake help line members and the forest department together rescued the huge snake.

Later, upon observation it was found that the long snake was 14 feet long king cobra. The snake catchers rescued the snake and took it with them. Later, they released it into the Shimlipal forest at a lonely place to its natural habitat in the Shimlipal forest.
