Sambalpur, 19/1 (AO Bureau): The beautification and heritage corridor development of the Samaleswari Temple the presiding deity of Sambalpur, will begin soon. On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik, a high-level delegation visited Sambalpur today and visited the temple of Maa Samaleshwari and discussed in detail the development of the region. Maa Samaleshwari’s Peetha is one of the most famous Shakti Peethas in Odisha. The Samaleswari Peetha has a close relationship with the social, cultural, and spiritual life of Western Odisha.
Every day, many pilgrims and tourists from within and outside the state come to bless their mother. In view of the importance and grandeur of the shrine, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik announced during a visit to the temple just before Kovidar that it would be made more attractive. The Samaleswari temple development project includes the beautification of the temple, the development of the surrounding area, the development of the heritage corridor, the Bhogmandapa, the passenger and devotee residences, the parking facilities, and the development of the riverfront. It will announce a special package for the resettlement and rehabilitation of temple priests and landlords.
The project will be implemented under five programs of the state government and is targeted to be completed within two years. The delegation included West Odisha Development Council Chairman Shri Asit Tripathi, Chief Secretary Shri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and Chief Minister’s Secretary (5-T) Shri V.K. Pandian visited the project area and discussed the issue in detail. The Secretary of State for Works and the District Magistrate of Sambalpur presented the plan.
