Haryana, 29/1 (AO Bureau): In view of the Farmer Protest, the BJP government of Haryana has banned Internet services in 15 districts of the state with immediate effect. The districts where this ban has been imposed include Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Rewari, and Sirsa. In these districts, except for voice calls, it has been decided to stop Internet services till 5 January 30, 2021. Let us tell you that internet services are already banned in Sonipat, Palwal, and Jhajjar.
After the violence erupted on Republic Day, the Haryana government has come into action mode. In this episode, the mobile service was stopped in the districts of Haryana adjoining Delhi. The order was issued by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Arora late Tuesday. Under this, Internet and SMS service will be closed in Sonipat, Palwal and Jhajjar of Haryana. Only voice call was active.
Social media can be misused
In the order issued by the Haryana Home Department, it has been said that during the Kisan agitation, fake news can be spread through social media due to which the law and order of the state can get disturbed. An attempt can also be made to incite the crowd through social media platforms and SMS. As a precaution, the government has decided to discontinue the internet service. Failure to follow orders may also result in action.
