Puducherry, 18/2 (AO Bureau): After Puducherry Congress MLA John Kumar left the party, the Narayanasamy government has come into a minority. On Thursday, Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanasamy met Lt Governor Tamilasai Sundararajan. After this meeting, the Lieutenant Governor has ordered the CM to conduct a floor test at 5 pm on 22 February.
On 16 February, Congress MLA John Kumar resigned from the membership of the Legislative Assembly and since last month, he is the fourth MLA to resign. After this, the number of seats in the 33-member house of the ruling Congress and DMK alliance has been reduced to 14.
BJP demands CM’s resignation
On Thursday, state BJP President V Saminathan said, ‘BJP, AIADMK, NR Congress has submitted a memorandum to LG and said that the present government is a minority government. CM V. Narayanasamy should resign immediately. We want a floor test to be conducted.
