New Delhi, 28/4 (AO Bureau);The CEO of Serum Institute of India, Adar Poonawalla, announced the reduction of the price of Covishield vaccine on Wednesday. Pune-based Serum Institute of India had fixed the price of Rs 400 per dose for the state governments of its ‘Covishield’. Now it has been reduced to Rs 300 per dose.
CEO of Serum Institute of India, Adar Poonawala has given this information by tweeting.
As a philanthropic gesture on behalf of @SerumInstIndia, I hereby reduce the price to the states from Rs.400 to Rs.300 per dose, effective immediately; this will save thousands of crores of state funds going forward. This will enable more vaccinations and save countless lives.
