Punjab, 16/5 (AO Bureau):Continuous efforts are continuing in the states to reduce corona infection. The effect of Kovid sanctions is also visible. Corona cases have been steadily decreasing for the last 25 days. However, the conditions are still in the Danger Zone. In view of the increasing cases of corona in Punjab, the state government has increased the corona curfew till 31 May.
On Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has ordered to extend all the existing restrictions till May 31. The Captain instructed all the officials of the state to strictly implement the COvid sanctions. Apart from announcing the shops to be opened in a phased manner, the Chief Minister announced several incentives / concessions for the housing sector. In the fast growing cases of Kovid-19, he ordered just 50 percent teachers to come to government schools and take online classes from the rest of the house.
Death figures from Corona are increasing rapidly in Punjab
In Punjab, 40 percent of Covid-19 deaths have occurred in the last 44 days, which shows the magnitude of the second wave of epidemic in the state. Data from the state’s health department shows that as of 31 March, 6,868 people had died due to corona virus infection in the state. On May 14, this figure increased to a total of 11,477 deaths, that is, from April this year, the number of total deaths increased by 4,609. Health officials had earlier said that patients arriving with serious symptoms and other illnesses arriving late to the hospital is the main cause of deaths.
