To solve the crisis in Punjab and decide the role of Sidhu, talks are going on in the last phase in the Congress. Congress is claiming to have decided Sidhu’s role in the next 2-3 days. Rahul, Priyanka and Harish Rawat held two rounds of discussion on Wednesday to decide the Punjab formula. Organization general secretary Venugopal was also present in the meeting.
Priyanka is advocating Sidhu
According to sources, Priyanka Gandhi is strongly advocating for making Sidhu the president, while the Amarinder Singh camp is opposing Sidhu’s appointment as the president. Along with making Sidhu the president, the party is also churning to make two working presidents. For this the names of Vijay Inder Singla and Santosh Chaudhary are going on.
The Amarinder Singh camp has no objection to Sidhu being made the deputy chief minister and the chairman of the campaign committee. But there is talk of making 2 more Deputy Chief Ministers with him, out of which one will be a Dalit.
