PV Sindhu keeps the medal hope alive, enters semis

Tokyo, 30/7: Female badminton player PV Sindhu has made it to the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics. He made it to the last-4 place in the second consecutive Olympics. Sindhu defeated Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-13, 22-20 in straight games to reach the semi-finals. PV Sindhu won the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. If she wins another match, her medal will be confirmed. In such a situation, she will become the first player from India to win two medals in badminton.

 

The first point of the match went to the host player Akane Yamaguchi. After this the score was tied at 2-2. Yamaguchi then took a 4-2 lead. The score then went in favor of Yamaguchi 5-3, 6-4, 6-5. Sindhu got a 7-6 lead for the first time. After this he did not give a chance to Yamaguchi. After this Sindhu was ahead 8-6, 8-7, 9-7, 10-7, 11-7. Then the lead of 17-11, 18-11, 18-12, 18-13, 19-13, 20-13 went in favor of Sindhu. In the end, Sindhu won the game 21-13 in 23 minutes.
