New Delhi,30/7: The Supreme Court took suo moto cognizance of the law and order situation in the lower courts across the country on the death of District and Sessions Judge Uttam Anand, who went on a morning walk in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. . Chief Justice Justice NV Ramana said that he will hear the matter regarding the safety of the judges outside the court and inside the court premises. The Supreme Court will ensure that the judges in the lower court can work without any fear.
The Supreme Court has sought a detailed report from the Jharkhand government on the suspicious death of Dhanbad District and Sessions Judge Uttam Anand. Chief Justice Justice NV Ramana said, “Such cases are coming up from across the country where judges are not feeling safe in lower courts.” She will keep going. The Supreme Court will not interfere in any way in that.
