Mumbai, 12/8: Online food delivery firm Zomato has pulled out of grocery delivery service. Now you will not get Grocery Delivery Service on Zomato’s app. The food tech platform has decided to shut down its recently launched grocery delivery service due to gap in order fulfillment, poor customer experience and increasing competition from rivals. The company was promising express delivery in 15 minutes.
The company said that its investment in Grofers will yield better results than its in-house grocery effort. Moneycontrol has a copy of the mail that Zomato has sent to its grocery partners. Zomato spokesperson has confirmed the closure of grocery delivery service from Moneycontrol.
No plans to run any other type of grocery delivery on the platform A Zomato spokesperson said that we have decided to discontinue our Kirana pilot and currently have no plans to run any other type of grocery delivery on our platform. Recently bought some stake in online grocery platform Grofers with an investment of $100 million (Rs 745 crore).
