Heavy rain expected in Kerala

Kerala, 16/10:The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in the South Indian state of Kerala. On Saturday, the department has issued red alert in 5 districts of the state and orange alert in 7 districts. Earlier on Thursday also an alert was issued for 6 northern districts of the state. Apart from Kerala, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the southern parts of Karnataka.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding heavy rains in Kerala on Saturday. Red alert has been issued by the department in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts and Orange alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts. News agency ANI reported that the roads in Kanjirapally in Kottayam district were flooded due to heavy rains. The department had told on Thursday that it may continue in south peninsular India till October 16.

It may rain in these areas too
According to the department, between October 16 and 18, light to moderate rain and thundershower occurred at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Rajasthan and Punjab. are likely to happen. At the same time, heavy rain may occur in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh on October 17 and 18.
