New Delhi, 26/10: The World Health Organization (WHO) is meeting today to approve India’s indigenous vaccine Covaxin. COVAXiN will be approved only on the basis of this meeting today. A spokesman for the organization told the news agency Reuters that the meeting of the Technical Advisory Group was going on. A decision on its Emergency Use License (EUL) can be taken soon.
Earlier, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said – WHO has a system in which there is a technical committee which has approved the vaccine. The meeting of other committees is today. Covaccine will be approved only on the basis of today’s meetings.
