Cuttack, 3/11: In a major development, a new judge has been appointed to the Odisha High Court. Aditya Kumar Mohapatra became a High Court judge. A formal notification has been issued by the Union Law Ministry. The announcement was made after receiving presidential approval. Earlier, the Supreme Court Collegium had proposed Aditya’s name. Lawyer Aditya Kumar Mohapatra is expected to join the Odisha High Court as soon as possible.
He was a senior lawyer in the Odisha High Court. Recently, Justice Mrigang Shekhar Sahu, Justice Radhakrishna Patnaik and Justice Shashikant Mishra were sworn in as High Court judges. Following the appointment, the number of judges in the Odisha High Court has risen to 18.
