Sydney,19/11:After leaving the captaincy of Tim Paine, there is going to be a historic change in Australia’s cricket. Australia will now have to make a new captain for the Ashes series. The name of Pat Cummins is at the fore in the race for the new captain, who is already the vice captain of the team. If Pat Cummins is made the captain, then it will be the first time in 65 years that a bowler will captain the Australian Test team. The Ashes series is to be held between Australia and England from next month. Tim Paine was made the captain of the host Australia for this series.
Pat Cummins is one of the few players from Australia who plays in all three formats. He has played 34 Tests, 69 ODIs and 37 T20 Internationals so far. Cummins is also at number one in the Test rankings. Tim Paine was the 46th Test captain of Australia. That is, if given a chance, Pat Cummins will be the 47th Test captain of Australia.
