MNCs tried to scuttle WHO nod for Covaxin: CJI Ramana

Hyderabad, 26/12: Chief Justice of India N.V. Raman (Chief Justice of India N.V. Raman) has said that many multi-national companies tried hard to not get WHO’s permission for the Made in India Vaccine – Covaxin. The CJI said this in a program organized in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana on Thursday. The CJI said, “Many multi-national companies, such as Pfizer, and on the other hand, people within India, made unwarranted efforts to malign Covaccine. He also complained to WHO and tried to stop the recognition of Made-in-India vaccine.

 

 

The CJI appreciated Bharat Biotech’s anti-Covid vaccine ‘Covaccine’ and the company’s efforts to manufacture it. He said that while various studies have said that indigenously made covaccine is effective, many people criticized it because it was made in the country. Some had complained against this to the WHO.

 

Tendency to underestimate Telugu people: CJI

There is a need to highlight the greatness of fellow Telugu people, he added.
