Bhubaneswar, 3/1: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has decided to increase the salaries of junior teachers engaged in teaching in primary schools. According to the decision, the salaries of junior teachers (contracted) and junior teachers have been increased by 50 per cent. The increase will take effect on January 1, 2022.
According to the decision, the current salary of contracted junior teachers has been increased from Rs 7,400 to Rs 11,000. Similarly, the salary of junior teachers has been increased from Rs 9,200 to Rs 13,800. The state government will spend Rs 168 crore a year on this. The decision will benefit 13,328 contract junior teachers, while 19,714 junior teachers will benefit. A total of 33,038 junior teachers will be paid.
