Manipur, 3/9: Five out of the six MLAs belonging to JD(U) merged with the ruling BJP in Manipur, days after the Nitish Kumar-led party parted ways with the saffron party in Bihar.
The merger of the JD(U) MLAs took BJP’s tally to 37 in the Assembly of 60.
The development comes amid reports that JD(U) was planning to withdraw support from the BJP government in Manipur after the Bihar development.
