Chennai, 28/12: Vijayakanth, who displayed extraordinary guts by taking the plunge into politics when M Karunanidhi and J Jayalalithaa dominated the political landscape in Tamil Nadu like a colossus after a successful and enriching two-and-a-half-decade stint in the politics passes away.
The founder of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) was 71 and is survived by his wife Premalatha, who now runs the political party, and two sons — Vijaya Prabhakaran and Shanmuga Pandian.
