Paradip – Overnight monsoon rains could not dampen the spirit of team PPA as they practiced YOGA on the Chilika Lake side led by Shri P. L. Haranadh, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on the occasion of 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) . Shri Haranadh inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. Among others, Nilabhra Dasgupta , Dy. Chairman, U.R.Mohan Raju, Secretary, Capt. A. C. Sahu, Dy. Conservator, H.S.Rout, Chief Engineer and Dr. B.B. Dash, CMO of Paradip Port Authority also graced the occasion. Yoga perfectly captures the essence of this ancient practice.
Tapas Ranjan Pati, experienced faculty of the Art of Living conducted the Yoga session. PPA officials, students and Women joined the yoga session. The participants also virtually watched live telecast of IDY 2024 from Srinagar, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga where he emphasised yoga’s global impact on health and social harmony.
Of late, the practice of Yoga has emerged as one of the most powerful way to ensure our holistic well being. The CISF Unit of PPA conducted the Yoga demonstration at Paradip Beach. On the occasion of IDY, Paradip Saksharata samiti, the social arm, PPA conducted Yoga session with local school students from Port Trust High School, DAV Public School, Paradip, Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir and Twinkle Twinkle School. Banners, Hoardings, Electronic Display Boards and Selfi point highlighted the significance of the observation of International Day of Yoga to build awareness among the local populace.
