Blood Donation Camp At GMR Kamalanga Energy Limited

Dhenkanal (Odisha), July 04, 2024: GMR Kamalanga Energy Limited (GKEL), a subsidiary of
GMR Power and Urban Infrastructure Limited (GPUIL), organised a blood a blood donation
camp in association with Odisha Blood Centre, Dhenkanal District Headquarter Hospital, on
Tuesday, where employees enthusiastically donated blood, resulting in the collection of 200
units.
Shri Manoj Mishra, Plant Head, inaugurated the blood donation camp along with other
senior officials of GKEL. Employees of GKEL, associate agency workers, GMR Varalakshmi
Foundation, the CSR wing of GMR Group and RAXA Techno Security Solutions (RAXA) – a
GMR Group company providing integrated security solutions and Fire Protection Staff,
voluntarily lined up to donate blood during the whole day.
Congratulating all blood donors, Shri Dhanjaya Despande, COO, GMR Energy (Thermal), said
“Donating blood is a pious work and exhorted everyone to come forward for this noble
cause.  GKEL has been the largest blood donor among all industries in Dhenkanal District
consecutively for the last ten years and we shall continue this service to the society for
years to come.”
The camp aimed to raise awareness about the critical need for blood donation and
encourage blood donation among its workforce. The successful camp at GKEL is a testament
to employees’ willingness to contribute society and make positive impact.
GMR Group operates a state-of-the-art 1050 MW thermal power plant in Kamaalnga,
located in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district. The company's proactive involvement in community
