SPECIAL DRIVE AT RAILWAY STATIONS AND TRAINS TO ENSURE “SWACHH FOOD” DURING SWACHHTA HI SEVA CAMPAIGN.

Indian Railways is observing “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign from 14 th September to
1 st October 2024. An initiative taken to Strengthen voluntarism and collective action for
Cleanliness, giving special focus on cleanliness at Railway stations, trains, Railway
residential colonies and production units etc.

As a part of the ongoing “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign, a special drive has been
conducted by Khurda Road division at Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khurda Road and Brahmapur Railway
stations and trains to ensure that passengers are being served with Swachh Food i.e with Clean
and hygiene food. Inspections of catering stalls were done to check that only certified food
products are being sold. The Samples of food available at food plazas, Jan Ahara kendras and
catering vendors were checked to know the purity and quality of food being sold.

The pantry cars of the trains were checked to ensure that proper hygiene is being
maintained while preparation of food in trains. The medical fitness certificate and physical
cleanliness maintained by the pantry staff were ensured. The Pantry staff and Licened vendors
were counselled to adopt all cleanliness measures while serving food to passengers.

The Swachh food drive was conducted involving Commercial officers, doctors, Health
inspectors, catering inspectors and Commercial Inspectors.
