Nation Pays Homage to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on Their Birth Anniversaries at Rajghat

Delhi: On this day  that is October 2nd, the entire country honors Mahatma Gandhi, also known as “the Father of the Nation,” on the day of his birth. We all recall the values of nonviolence and truth that set our country free as people throughout the country pay their respects to him.Politicians from different political parties reached at Rajghat’s Gandhi memorial. On the anniversary of Gandhi’s birth, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition party, and the chief minister of Delhi also paid their respects at the memorial. Numerous well-known politicians from various parties have assembled today.Today, the nation also celebrates the birth anniversary of our former Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri. He was one of India’s most well-known political figures. Every time the country honors Shastri, memories of his simplicity, humility, and devotion to his country come to mind.The 2nd of October, 1869, marked the birth of Mahatma Gandhi in Porbandar, Gujarat. He used nonviolence and the truth to guide India toward freedom. He led important and historic movements that united the country to fight for their freedom, such as the Quit India Movement, Civil Disobedience, and Non-Cooperation. India’s history was shaped by his superb leadership during this war for independence. However, regrettably, Gandhi’s journey of independence struggle came to an end on January 30, 1948, when he was assassinated in broad daylight by Nathuram GodsOn this day in 1904, Lal Bahadur Shastri was born and went on to become the second Prime Minister of India. Shastri joined the liberation cause, following Gandhi’s leadership and supervision.Following India’s independence, Shastri was appointed to the Parliament and served as Jawaharlal Neheru’s Railway Minister before succeeding him as India’s second prime minister. During the 1965 India-Pakistan war, Shastri’s leadership reached the pinnacle and demonstrated India’s strength. His well-known slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” continues to inspire the entire country and will do so for years to come.As the country honors the lives of these two legendary figures, its people are living examples of their teachings of simplicity, peace, and unity. They have made a timeless contribution and will always serve as an inspiration to future generations.
