Orissa High Court stays recruitment of OCCL senior accountant
The Orissa High Court has stayed OCCL's senior accountant recruitment. Junior accountants, led by Pradeep Behera, filed the petition. Justice SK Panigrahi set November 27 for OCCL's reply.
The Orissa High Court stayed the recruitment process for the post of senior accountant at Odisha Construction Corporation Limited (OCCL). Based on a petition by the junior accountants, the Orissa High Court has issued notice to the state PSU.Single judge bench of Justice SK Panigrahi fixed November 27 for OCCL’s reply.Junior accountants- Pradeep Behera and his three friends have filed the petition. Although they are eligible to be promoted to the senior post as they are working as junior accounts, the state PSU has invited applications without considering them.Representing them, advocate Avijit Patnaik argued that the junior accountants were eligible and the advertisement was made without their consent.“As an interim measure, it is directed that further proceeding in the recruitment process for the post of Senior Accountant pursuant to the advertisement dated 05.01.2024 and operation of the notice (select list) dated 01.11.2024 shall remain stayed till the next date of listing of this matter,” Justice Panigrahi said in his order.
