Bhubaneswar, Nov. 23: The ‘Voice of SOA Community 90.4’,
community radio station of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be
University (SOA) here, has launched a program to educate senior
citizens about government programs designed to benefit them.
Styled as ‘Hamare Buzurg, Hamara Abhiman’, the program’s
objective is to improve the quality of life of senior citizens by extending
them basic amenities like shelter, food, medical care and entertainment
opportunities.
It is part of the ‘Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana’ (AVAYA) launched by
the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry of the central
government and the Community Radio Association (CRA) was
propagating the same through the community radio stations. This
program, launched in November 2024, would continue till March 2025.
The community radio stations would be propagating the same for the
benefit of the senior citizens.
Voice of SOA Community Radio proposed to conduct 24 episodes
on the same and organize ten narrow casting to reach the target group
of senior citizens. It conducted a special program on the same on
Thursday which was attended by 30 senior citizens who listened to a
play focusing on the AVAYA scheme. The objectives of the government
program was also explained to them.
Ms. Honey Pattanaik, in-charge of SOA Community Radio 90.4,
supervised the program which was conducted by RJs Ramaballabh
Mohapatra, Subhashree Patra, Subhashree Sahoo and Shubhashree
Shubhasmita Swain. Sound Engineer Mr. Satya Ranjan Swain and
Technician Mr. Pabitra Kumar Sahu assisted in the conduct of the
program.
