Acase of suspected food poisoning due to the consumption of wildflowers emerged from Angul district in Odisha on Tuesday.Seven members of a family fell seriously ill after consuming a curry made from wildflowers in an incident that was reported from Pallahara in Angul.As per sources, Hiramani Hembram of Khuludi village under Pallahara police limits had collected some wildflowers from the forest the day before.Later, the flowers were cooked into a curry, which the entire family consumed. Subsequently, Hiramani, along with four minor daughters, two minor sons, and her mother-in-law, started suffering from diarrhea and vomiting. All of them were rushed to Pallahara Hospital as their condition worsened. Reports added that following treatment, all were declared out of danger.However, the exact circumstances under which the wildflowers were consumed remain unclear.Meanwhile, the incident shed light on rising cases of food poisoning due to the consumption of wildflowers or uncooked items from several parts of the state.
