STF nabs tiger skin dealer

SUBARNAPUR, 14/12- — STF team seized leopard skin from Manmunda forest area of Buddh Division and arrested one accused involved in the incident. According to the information, a team of STF was ambushed at the specified place after getting information from some source when leopard poaching was going on.Manmunda Police Station Manmunda – Meheruni Nala Bridge of Shagda Road arrested a man on suspicion and interrogated him. After several interrogations, a leopard skin and other crime paraphernalia, which Sat had hidden near Sat, were found. The police seized the man and arrested him from the spot. The arrested youth has been identified as Narayan Majhi (28) of Pairbandh village under Manmunda Police station of Dapla Panchayat. Narayan was arrested and produced before the Kantamal court under the Wildlife Offenders Act and the Trafficking in Wildlife Products Act. In this regard, the STF has filed a case in Case No. 23 and is continuing further investigation On the other hand, the STF officer informed that the said tiger skin will be sent to the laboratory in Dehradun for testing.
