Bihar: In a video recorded on camera, a principal of a government school was allegedly caught stealing eggs meant for students. The students were to be provided the eggs under the Mid-day Meal (MDM) scheme. The incident happened on December 13. In the viral video circulating on social media site X (formerly twitter), the principal was seen waiting to collect the eggs. A man standing on a road of a pick-up van was loading some eggs in a bag and then handed over the same to the principal. The pick-up van was loading with egg trays, tins probably carrying some food for the Mid-day meal. As the video went viral, the education department investigated the matter and confirmed its genuinity. Following the investigation, the principal caught stealing was identified as Suresh Sahni was issued a show-cause notice. He was given 24 hours to explain his actions or face stringent action.The District Education Officer of Vaishali, Birendra Narayan, confirmed that the principal was asked to provide an explanation. However, speaking to a local media channel, the principal denied the allegations against him. He said that he had handed over the eggs to the cook of the government school.
