Bhitarkanika to remain shut for visitors from January 14 to 22

Rajnagar – Bhitarkanika National Park to remain closed for visitors from January 14th to 22nd for for the annual census of saltwater crocodiles. This was information by Rajnagar Forest Officer Sudarshan Gopinath Yadav on Sunday.As per the information received, the Bhitarkanika National Park will be closed for visitors in between January 14 and 22, 2025 in the New Year.The crocodile census will be executed in 4 Forest Ranges of Rajnagar.At least 22 teams comprising forest officials, wildlife researchers and locals will be engaged to count the crocodiles.
