4 hardcore Maoists killed in exchange of fire in Malkangiri border, 1 DRG personnel martyred

Malkangiri: As many as four hardcore Maoists were killed and one head constable was martyred in an exchange of fire between police and the naxals in the Malkangiri bordering districts of Chhattisgarh on Sunday. The DRG jawans had conducted an operation in the Abujhamada jungles adjoining the four districts of Dantewada, Narayanpur, Kondagaon and Jagdalpur.In the exchange of fire between the District reserve guard (DRG) jawans and the Maoists one head constable of DRG was martyred while four hardcore Maoists were killed.The security personnel seized AK47, SLR and huge amounts of grenades from the area. The encounter has not ceased yet. Further information awaited.
