52-year-old Shyamala Goli swims 150 km from Visakhapatnam to Kakinada, breaks records

A 52-year-old swimmer from Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh has hit the headlines for achieving an impossible feat. Shyamala Goli has swam across 150 km in the open sea from Visakhapatnam to Kakinada on January 4. She has created history by swimming for nearly five days. Embarking on the journey, she swam around 30 km each day and completed the 150 km sea voyage from Visakhapatnam to Kakinda, inspiring hundreds of people. A dedicated team of 14 crew members including medical professionals and scuba divers were present for her safety. It is worth mentioning here that the 52-year-old has in 2021 swam across Palk Strait. Adding another feather to her cap she has swam around the Lakshwadeep Islands in February 2021. She is the only woman so far to achieve these Herculean feats. Born in Samarlkota village in the Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh she has showed that age is just a number. It takes determination and perseverance to get your dreams fulfilled.
