Pune: In a tragic incident, as many as nine people have died in a road accident in Pune. The accident occured in the Narayangaon area of Pune district in Maharashtra, said reliable reports on Friday. According to reports, the accident in Pune occurred after a truck dashed against a car from behind which further collided with a bus which was stationary. The Pune Rural Police SP Pankaj Deshmukh informed that all the nine people died on the spot. The police has reached the spot and has started an investigation into the matter and has sent the bodies for postmortem. Recently on December 20 at least five people of a marriage party died after a bus lost balance and overturned in at Kondethar village in Tamhini Ghat on the Pune-Dighi highway. Around 25 people are suspected to have been injured in the road accident. According to information, a bus overturned to the road side as the driver took a sharp turn in the Ghats. It was carrying over 40 people of a marriage party. Following the accident, five people died at the spot while over 25 others sustained injured. Locals rushed to the spot and informed the police. On reaching the spot, police sent the injured for treatment to Sub-divisional hospital (SDH) Mangaon. The injured include children and women.
