Bhubaneswar: Acting on intelligence inputs, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha Police, Special Force of Chhattisgarh Police and CRPF jawans launched a joint inter-state anti-Naxal operation in Kularighat Reserve Forest under Mainpur police limits in of Gariabandh district of neighbouring Chhattisgarh on Sunday
On Sunday night, intelligence inputs were received about the presence of a large number of Maoists hiding in the Kulari Ghat reserved forest of Chhattisgarh, just 5 km from the border of Nuapada district of Odisha. Accordingly, the central security forces along with the security forces of both the states have launched this joint operation.Exchange of fire in the area was reported around 8.30 am on Monday with the SOG and Chhattisgarh Police operation still in progress.
