Kaniha :NTPC Talcher Kaniha celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and reverence at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stadium on 26 January 2025. The event was honored by the presence of Shri A.K. Sehgal, Head of Project, NTPC Kaniha, as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, followed by a soulful rendition of the National Anthem. A combined march-past, featuring CISF personnel, township security jawans, and students from the township schools, took place at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar stadium, with a salute to the nation.
Shri Satya Rama Krishna, GM (O&M), Shri S.S. Rao, GM (Maint & ADM), Shri Navneet Kumar, HOHR, HODs, Shri Brij Mohan Singh, DC, CISF, Smt. Renu Sehgal, President Tanvi Sangam, and representatives of unions and associations were present on the occasion.
To make the occasion more memorable, balloons in the colors of the Indian flag were released. Following this, a parade was conducted, showcasing the discipline and unity of all participants.
In his speech, Shri A.K. Sehgal emphasized the significance of Republic Day, paying tribute to the invaluable contributions of India’s freedom fighters in the creation of the Indian Constitution. He also acknowledged the efforts of NTPC in powering the nation, highlighting its pivotal role in ensuring energy security and driving India’s economic growth. He further lauded the contributions of NTPC Talcher Kaniha in supporting the company’s mission, with special recognition to the efforts of all its departments.
The celebrations were further elevated by cultural performances from the students of Evershine School (Nursery), Balbhavan, Welfare Centre, DAV, KV, and SSVM, who showcased their talent and creativity. Throughout the event, the stadium echoed with patriotic slogans such as “Vande Mataram,” “Hum Hindustani,” and “Maa Tujhe Salaam,” as each cultural program carried a message of national pride and unity.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where Tanvi Sangam, Ladies club of NTPC Kaniha distributed winter Clothes, GEM students received bicycles, music systems were distributed to villagers, and several awards and certificates were presented to recognize excellence in various categories, including best employee, best student, teachers, CISF personnel, security staff, and best employee of the year.
As part of the event, the national flag was also unfurled at the Administrative Building of NTPC Kaniha by Shri Ch Satya Rama Krishna, GM (O&M).
The event was a resounding success, fostering a deep sense of unity, patriotism, and national pride among all those present.
