Republic Day: CM Majhi Emphasizes Importance Of Cultural Development In Promoting Communal Harmony

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi highlighted the state’s progress in social, economic, as well as cultural development in the country. While addressing the 76th Republic Day celebration in Cuttack, Majhi emphasized that the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj are indicators of the country’s cultural development, promoting communal harmony and national unity.“Not only social and economic development, but also cultural development has taken place in the country. The Ram temple in Ayodhya and the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj are the testament to this cultural development,” he said. This new awakening is playing a significant role in maintaining communal harmony and national unity in the country, Majhi added. The CM stated that good governance has been established in Odisha, following Prime Minister Modi’s mantra, and the state’s development is progressing rapidly with Odia Asmita. He noted that the government has fulfilled the hopes and aspirations of the people, who trusted them to govern seven months ago. The Chief Minister highlighted various initiatives, including the Subhadra Yojana, which provides Rs. 10,000 annually to over one crore mothers in the state for five years. More than 80 lakh women beneficiaries have already received the first installment, with the remaining eligible women to receive it soon. The second installment will be disbursed on Women’s Day, March 8. Majhi highlighted the importance of farmers in Odisha’s economy, with around 70% of the population relying on agriculture and allied activities. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing facilities and welfare to farmers. The Chief Minister also announced that over one crore families in Odisha, comprising more than three and a half crore people, will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana from next month. This scheme provides medical benefits up to five lakh rupees, with female beneficiaries eligible for benefits up to Rs. 10 lakh. In the education sector, Majhi announced the establishment of Godavarish Mishra Adarsh Primary Schools, equipped with modern facilities, in each panchayat over the next four years. The government will spend Rs. 12,000 crores on this initiative. The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting the interests, pride, and culture of tribals, launching the “Shaheed Madho Singh Hatakharch” scheme to encourage tribal students to pursue higher education. Majhi expressed his belief that the next five years will be a golden age of infrastructure development for Odisha, with the double-engine government doubling the state’s development. He highlighted the importance of village development, with thousands of crores of rupees to be invested annually for infrastructure development. The Chief Minister concluded by reminding everyone that the responsibility of protecting democracy and the Constitution lies with all citizens, emphasizing the importance of being vigilant guards of democracy
