Bhubaneswar: The authorities of the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) have introduced a special flight to Prayagraj from Bhubaneswar in view of the huge rush for the ongoing ‘Maha Kumbh Mela.’ The special flight for the Maha Kumbh Mela from Bhubaneswar is flying once in a week, i.e on every Wednesday. Currently, BPIA is running four weekly flights for Prayagraj from Bhubaneswar. The flight number rose to five with the introduction of the special flight for ‘Maha Kumbh Mela.’ However, the BPIA will take a final decision to continue this flight after the Mahakumbh depending on the passenger load. While speaking to the ANI about the introduction of the special flight for ‘Maha Kumbh Mela’ from Bhubaneswar, Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan said. “As you know, we have four weekly flights for Prayagraj from Bhubaneswar and keeping in view of the Mahakumbh rush, the government had requested and so we have another Alliance Air weekly once, on Wednesday it is going. It is a 72-seater flight.” Informing about the continuity of the special flight, he said, “As of now, there are four 72-seater aircrafts between Bhubaneswar and Prayagraj. So, the continuation of the special flight in future after Mahakumbh depends on the passenger load,” it added.
