Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi in a tweet on social media platform, X, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for announcing the Zero Income Tax till Rs 12 lakh. Odisha CM Majhi tweeted and thanked FM by writing,” A heartfelt thank you to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble Finance Minister Niramala Sitharaman ji for this transformative initiative of Zero Income Tax till ₹12 Lakh under the New Tax Regime. This visionary step empowers citizens, strengthens the economy, and paves the way for brighter financial opportunities for all. FM Nirmala Sitharaman presented her 8th Union Budget today in the Parliament. She said,”I am now happy to announce that there will be no income tax up to an income of Rs 12 lakhs.” The middle class provide strengths to the economy. In recognition of their contribution, we have periodically reduced the tax burdens. I am now happy to announce that there will be no income tax up to an income of Rs 12 lakhs,” said the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
