Kheda: In a tragic incident as many as three people died in Gujarat after allegedly consuming a hazardous drink. The police has started and investigation in this matter. According to reports, on investigation of the three deaths SP Rajesh Gadhiya told ANI, “We received information about the suspicious death of three people and we immediately reached the spot.” The police then took Suo motto cognizance of the matter and the investigation was started immediately. An eyewitness said that the victims had consumed jeera soda. The SP further added, “The matter was taken seriously and the report was immediately sent to forensics. The quantity of methanol was zero, but the empty bottles consumed will be sent to FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) today.” “It is being investigated what else apart from methanol poisoned the victims.” The police officer further informed, “Our main focus is on what chemical was in the drink, where it was brought from and what is the ultimate cause of death.” The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
