Odisha CM Mohan Majhi invites LoP Naveen Patnaik to attend Biju Patnaik’s birth anniversary tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today invited Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik to attend the birth anniversary of legendary leader Biju Patnaik tomorrow. In his invitation letter to Naveen, Majhi said him to join as a “distinguished guest” at the State-level meeting at 7 PM at Jayadev Bhavan in Bhubaneswar to celebrate the birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik, who is Naveen’s father and former Chief Minister of the state. Earlier yesterday, the State government had announced to celebrate the birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik on March 5 in a grand manner. However, it cancelled the public holiday saying to observe the Panchayati Raj Diwas, which was earlier observed on March 5, will now be celebrated on April 24. The State government’s decision to cancel public holiday on March 5 and change the date of Panchayati Raj Diwas celebration from March 5 with April 24 has been strongly condemned and opposed by the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
