Utkal Alumina organises the 9th edition of “Ama Nrutya, Ama Sanskruti” with a Grand Cultural Extravaganza

Rayagada, : Utkal Alumina, a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla group, successfully hosted the 9th edition of its cultural event, “Ama Nrutya, Ama Sanskruti”, at its township premises in Nuapada, Tikiri.

The two-day festival showcased vibrant performances that celebrated the rich cultural heritage of the region.

First day the event was inaugurated by Shri Akshaya Kumar Khemundu, Chief Development Officer of Rayagada district along with
Shri Ravi Narayan Mishra, Unit Head graced the occasion as esteemed guests. CDO shri Khemundu praised the utkal alumina for the initiative for providing a platform to local talent. He delivered upon the cultural significance of the undivided Koraput region and encouraged efforts to promote indigenous traditions.

The festival brought together traditional dance troupes from 20 villages, who performed mesmerizing folk and tribal dances. The competition segment of the event saw Gokulumunda village securing first place, Mouiliguda taking second place, and Bagrizhola securing third place. These top three teams performed again on the final evening and were felicitated by dignitaries.

The closing ceremony was attended by Shri Nihar Ranjan Kahar, Additional District Magistrate of Rayagada, and Shri Biranchi Charan Patra, Additional Superintendent of Police, who commended Utkal Alumina for its commitment to preserving local culture.

The highlight of the event was a spectacular showcase of traditional dances from across India, featuring performances from Mizoram, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu, which captivated the audience with their diversity and artistic brilliance.

The Event was was organized under the leadership of Ms. Lopamudra Mishra, Head of CSR, and among other key dignitaries Dr. Bibhudatta Mahapatra, Regional Head of Corporate Communications, Bijay Kumura, Functional Head of Human Resources, Shri Pitambar Behera, Head of Public Relations and Liaison also attended. Their presence highlighted the company’s dedication to social and cultural initiatives.

Through “Ama Nrutya, Ama Sanskruti,” Utkal Alumina continues its mission to nurture local talent, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate India’s diverse cultural heritage.
