Bhubaneswar: Six Odisha districts are likely to experience heatwave conditions at one or two places on March 13 and March 14, according to the forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). As per IMD prediction, six districts, including Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda, have been issued a yellow warning for heatwave on the above-mentioned days. This indicates a high likelihood of rising temperatures in these districts. Besides, going by IMd’s prediction, dry weather is expected to prevail over the districts of Odisha for the next few days. “Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda,” read the IMD prediction issued for March 13. The regional weather office has advised people living in these districts to stay hydrated, avoid venturing out during the hottest part of the day, and take other necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
