Pakistan: The Pakistani army has successfully rescued 104 hostages and killed 16 terrorists of the BLA who had hijacked the Jaffar Express on Tuesday. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) carried out the hijack in Mashkaf, Dhadar, Bolan where they have blown up the railway track. As a result the Jaffar Express came to a halt. It later released civilian hostages and held 214 people as captive including military personnel. The militants of the BLA, a militant separatist group claimed to have hijacked the train. More than 30 military personnel were killed in the attack informed the militant group. The driver of the Pakistan train hijack was injured during the firing on Tuesday. Rescue teams and security personnel have reached the spot to bring the situation under control. The Balochistan government imposed emergency measures and all institutions have been mobilised to deal with the situation, government spokesperson Shahid Rind said. “After capturing the Jaffar Express, the fighters of the Baloch Liberation Army have taken 182 hostages who have been in our custody for the past six hours. During this operation, an additional eight Pakistani military personnel were eliminated, bringing the total number of enemy casualties to over 20”, the BLA said in its statement.
